Didn't expect #2 to get much love. I'm still looking hard at #3. I guess I could always paint it however and repaint it later if i decide I don't like it. Ima dig around some more for pics of #3 on a a Tahoe or Suburban of my color.

I like the first and love the smells of the cane fields when they're harvested!

The sugar mill is maybe 1.5 miles away and with a NE wind we get a molasses smell in the air. It's not the greatest smell but it doesn't bother me, either. The smell I do like is when they're burning the fields. The smell of burning wood, cane husk, etc. and cool weather is relaxing. It's a cool site to see at night when we drive between the fields and it's nothing but rows of fire all around.

Yep, love it! My father used to work for US Sugar as a conductor and I would ride the engines as they loaded cane into cars and took them to the mill for processing. He'd come home with brown paper bags full of cane sugar which is awesome with oatmeal!

Now you got me all nostalgic and wanting to drive out to Belle Glade and Clewiston!

Finally did a little something:

Before:

As I do before applying any stickers, I scrubbed it with an alcohol prep pad. I saw what I thought was a speck in the gold and when I went to scrape it out, the gold peeled. So I scraped all of it off with my fingernail. I considered keeping it all chrome for maybe 2 seconds. But, for those that would like it to be chrome, apparently an alcohol prep pad will soften the gold overlay. That's some remnants of the gold overlay down in that crevice in the lower right portion:

Decal applied. It's not shaped/cut 100% perfectly even, but I split the differences on both axis. I'm very satisfied with it:

The color matches better in different lighting and angles:

I absolutely love your OCD and attention to detail.

 Thank you. It's a blessing and a curse. I just wish I could direct it towards bigger priorities. I'll go weeks without shaving, changing a dead bulb in the ceiling fan or even washing my Tahoe. But I'll be damned if my exhaust tips aren't on the same adjacent plane as the bottom of the bumper cover.

I say this with all honestly: I've never met anyone named iamdub on an auto forum that I liked so much.

:High 5:

:D Met many Dubs at all? I appreciate your sentiments. I also appreciate your blunt witticism. ("blunt" pun intended). Hell, your sophomoric "chiseled and chewed DIC hole" comment was the first quote I've ever added to my sig line on this forum. It brought many of teh lulz.

That's funny. First time I saw my quote in your sig I laughed and didn't realized it was mine for a few seconds.

And I'm totally the same on the OCD. It definitely has its own set of priorities.

Thank you!

And you're right. We can't have anything JUST like anything else on the street. It's gotta have our own spin on it.
