Hey everybody. I'm brand new here. Looking for some insight because i can't find anyone who's done it or got pictures online.

I'm thinking about gutting my new Yukon due to the fact that the carpets are nasty and moldy. Many of the plastic pieces all over the back are broken and the windows leak. Has anyone gutted their Tahoe/Yukon? If so would i be begging for rust on the floors? Anything to watch out for?

I've seen tons of older k5's gutted but never a 90's chevy suv

If the windows are leaking, I would fix that first. In my opinion I wouldn't gut it if I drove it alot as it likely would be annoying hearing all the noise. I'd try to restore it as best as possible. Carpet is very reasonable, but the plastic parts can be hard to find. Might see if any junkyards around had parts, and they make paint for them now so color isn't as big of an issue.

Would the cabin noise really be that noticeable? I hadn't thought of that but i guess that would make sense. Other than noise are there any downfalls? I like the idea of a rig that you can get down and dirty with, then just house out. But not if it's going to make me suffer driving to work every day.

Done this, can be a pain in the ass. mine has 188K on it and the floors were in good shape...however I had no leaks.

Yeah, I think it would make that big of a difference. If you are dead set on it, I would at least rhino line it.
