Anyone every tried making their own? I saw a thread a while back on GMFS that a guy with a NBS did it. I think I am going to take a shot at that come spring. If you've done it post a picture up. FYI, vortec.

No, need too. Drop in a K&N and cut off the knock behind the Vortec Box and seal it.

The handmade Snorkel or just the air intake under the hood? the one under the hood would be straight forward since you can get all the pieces from autozone/pepboys/etc.

been debating the snorkel idea myself, it will probably be one of the last projects if I decide it needs one.

PVC works great. Did it on my Caprice to delete a huge silencer. Painted black it looks completely stock.

Yeah, I was thinking of some black PVC and some rubber adapters and so on.

I had planned on making my own home depot version as told by FSC HERE and discussed on TYF HERE.

I really like the idea of doing it that way. I have actually purchased all the parts except one. I can't find the pipe hanger they used anywhere. If I had found the hanger, it would already be installed.

If you do make up your own, please post up lots of pics on how it's securely mounted!!!

Alternatively, DJTricky had made his own, but need the cowled hood to clear the contraption.

that intake is pointless as hell. the msd box blocks the cold air flow from outside on the fender, then his intake is right about the exhaust manifold/header..

I like my volant, spent 100bucks on it and its brand new. retail around 300 something.
im sure it was a hellofalot easier to install my volant, cleaner appearance, better gains then whatever the hell dj has..

I would keep my air box, just delete the silencers and so on. Just clean it up a bit

I can't run my old setup with my Vortec intake now ... I am running a K+N 14x4 with a 2 inch drop base and xtreme flow top.
