Dang, wish I knew! I might be getting up under the dash of our truck this next week so I'll try to help you figure it out unless someone else chimes in! Is that wire light blue?

That's your parking brake wire. It should be plugged up to a spade connector on the back of the parking brake housing. That's what turns on the "BRAKE" light on the dash when you have the parking brake on. With it disconnected, the brake will still work and all, but that warning light on the dash will not be on.

thanks for the reply, Well that explains me discovering the parking brake has no tension and just flops down , I just got this truck 2 weeks ago it didn't even go thru my mind to check that brake as I don't use it much at all in florida with no inclines.... but they must have broke the brake then disconnected the wire for light so the buyer wouldn't notice.... is this fix expensive?

Depends on what's broken about it. Just the cable hooking to the the pedal and going out of the vehicle to the underside is about $20 so not too bad.
Again, just a matter of checking what's wrong.

Lol the shady things people/dealers do. Personally I'd rather just know what's wrong
