This is honestly my first time doing something as intense as completely redoing the interior of a vehicle, and I'm not sure what to do. My 99 Tahoe has the dove grey interior but I am thinking about dying the carpet due to the stains. Would dying successfully cover a huge red koolaid looking stain? I can only assume that it's koolaid, it was left by the previous owner. :sad72:

I'd try to steam clean it first. You might be able to lighten up the stains before you dye it.

I've done a couple deep cleanings on it so far. The koolaid crap is still there. This truck sat for a while unattended before I bought it, and what was inside was scary, at best. Ever see the movie Joe's Apartment? Oh yea, they moved into this truck. The entire interior was pulled out and the only thing in it right now are the seats and the parts that are going to be put on soon.

Well dang. At a used car company I worked for we would use rattle cans and a stiff brush. Never did a "propper" dye job.

Not all the time. Some spray paint matched the carpet better than the interior spray we were provided so they told us to make it work. Works good for small areas.

Try some folex from homedepot, it works wonders. Its in a white bottle w/ purple lettering. Just spray, let sit and damp w/ a wet towel.
