Has anyone used Mobil 1 0W-30 in your 6.0 Yukon Xl Denali. Basically I don't do any hard working with my Denali its more for show. 23" rims Neon lights in the grill. Just a show boat and I was wondering if 0w-30 would get me better gas mileage than 5W-30.

I doubt it's going to net any better gas mileage. Personally, i don't think it'd hurt the motor any, but I don't have any real data or experience to back that up. If anything, it'll find any weaknesses in your gaskets and could end up with an oil leak.

I'd stick with 5w-30. No need in running lighter weight oil than spec'd, especially if you live in a hot climate.

edited to add: I've run Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w-30 since my truck had around 80k on it, and no problems.

I'm a firm believer in using the oil that the manufacturer designed the engine to run on. Things like your bearing tolerances, rings, oil pump, filter, lifters, and so on were designed with a certain oil in mind. The only reason I would switch grades is if I was in a very hot or very cold climate and working the engine hard, and then I'd look in the manual to see what they recommend. I use Mobil 1 5w30 and change the oil every 6k miles or sooner.

This. Your engine is designed with a certain oil spec. Changing the viscosity of the oil will affect oil pressure because oil clearances in your engine are designed for that viscosity oil. Going thicker or thinner affects how oil flows through these clearances in main/rod bearings, piston/cylinder walls, etc.

I run Castrol Edge Black Full Syn and change at 3K miles. Wix filter also.

I run 5w30 mobil one in all of my vehicles. I believe it has outstanding performance for vehicles that sit for periods of time.
