It looks like I'm going to move forward with ordering a winch bumper + winch...adding a bit of weight to the front end.

With that in mind, I'm sure I will wear out my current torsion bars fairly quickly. Instead of waiting for that happen, what should I look into to strengthen my front end?

First that came to mind was simply beefier torsion bars...do they make them, will they fit?

I'm at the planning stage on this so ALL ideas are welcome!!

unknown at this time.
Not 100% sure but at least put the assembly on and crank your bars for now to compensate for the weight gain till you can find a stronger arm. I don't really think it is going to kill them any sooner tho.

By any chance is there a part number on your current ones? I could try up-sizing it maybe.

I'm cranked @ 1.75" and the one bar is maxed...so it's already loosing some of it's strength. Unfortunately I do not have a part number...did Chevy put more then one t-bar on Tahoe's?

You mentioned finding a strong "arm" - ?

Personally I'd rather set the truck up before putting the bumper on....

great find!

I have a 4dr 4x4, so i'm guessing mine is the Max Torque 7161...i'm guessing they mean the max weight on those bars in 7100lbs?? My rig weighs 6700 stock...

It looks like they make two bars that are heavier, 8615 and 8782...I'm guessing those would be for the big 454 motors and diesel.

Am i way off here??

yup - that's what I was thinking!

I'd imagine the "frames" are nearly identical, so i'm assuming adding these heavier torsion bars would be plug and play. I have no idea if I would need new keys though...
