Does anybody know what the ft pounds of torque would be instead of using a degree wheel on a 2010 gmc 6.2 ls gen 4
It depends on the bolt that you are using. If they are Arp, then the torque value is provided with the lubricant in the package, but I’ve listed it below anyway.
Factory bolts:
- Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a first pass in sequence to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
- Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a second pass in sequence to 90 degreesusing J 45059 - angle meter .
- Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a final pass to 70 degrees using J 45059 - angle meter .
- Tighten the M8 cylinder head bolts (11-15) to 30 Nm (22 lb ft). Begin with the center bolt (11) and alternating side-to-side, work outward tightening all of the bolts.
ARP bolts:
For LS cylinder head bolts, ARP recommends a three-step torque sequence: 25 ft-lbs, 50 ft-lbs, and then 80 ft-lbs, followed by a final pass at 25 ft-lbs on the top bolts
