ya that's the difference then is the year, you would need to upgrade the cluster i'm sure
Yeah, that's what I assume. And it seems true as my swc don't work with AA.

At that point I might as well replace the whole entertainment system for the money.

It's easy with the factory wiring there already, power/ground/audio out should all be easily swapped over to the new screens.

If you're really dumping money into it, consider doing the WAMS cluster upgrade while you're at it.

meh, not so easy the k2's have a few separate modules for the radio system down under behind the glove box, what you see in the dash is just a lcd screen with nothing behind it.
adding 3rd party screens and wiring is easy enough though

Yeah, I think it's two modules, the DVD drive, and the LCD.

I think the two modules and the DVD drive all work together.

It's probably the same or similar HMI as my Camaro, in which case it is overly complicated for seemingly no reason. Blessed were the days of standalone stereo systems lol

there should be at least 2 modules might be more there is the radio and then onstar/sirius (if equipped) then there is a antenna splitter, and vehicle integration module of some type "most bus" then the factory amp is also mixed in there in a separate location

Lol, true. It does seem more complicated then just replacing the deck.

Yup, two modules behind the globe box, one behind the module + DVD player behind the center dash.

Overly complicated

when I was adding separate amp's to my factory radio I had to go with a 6 channel amp and split that off to a separate bass amp because the factory amp sends bluetooth to one channel and vehicle alerts to a another channel and backup beeps to another channel and the bass is filtered thru the factory amp to another channel as well.
all of it is split thru the factory amp
learning experience... lol
