I installed a head unit in my 99 Tahoe around May of 2013, it has been working fine since then but someone before me had done what looked to me like a crappy wiring job on the factory harness. There was no tape on any of the wires it was all exposed. Today I thought I would try and put some tape over the exposed wires. As I was doing it some sparks jumped across the wires, and I thought to myself that I probably should have disconnected the battery. After I taped them all up I had found some wires that weren't connected to anything so I just left them, I plugged everything back in and reconnected the battery but i have no power to my head unit. Where did I go wrong and how can I go about fixing it? Thanks.

Check the radio fuse panel. I it's on the side of the dash on the driver side. If that is ok check the radio fuse on the radio.
