From past experience the header gaskets you get are crap (garlock material), go to Summit Racing and buy the SS gaskets. If you don't you will be replacing them not long after you install the headers.

I paid extra to get the multi layer steel gaskets. I've run headers on lots of small and big block chevys just not on an ls so I knew to get good gaskets. Changing header gaskets once they're installed really sucks.

Well they're installed . 8.5 hours total. It had 6 broken manifold bolts , 2 flush with the head . When my fiance wakes up and starts it in the morning I'm quite certain she's going to kill me lol it sounds badass , extremely loud but badass ! I haven't driven it yet but throttle response has definitely increased and the engine seems to run a lot smoother . The speed engineering kit actually fit exceptionally well for the budget price . I didn't take pictures while I was installing but I'll get some in the daylight tomorrow of the completed install .

Their kit fit great ! No clearance issues or anything ! Thanks for the suggestion! Less than $400 shipped with the bolts and the upgraded MLS gaskets !
Was it all bolt on or did you have to do some welding. I'm about to purchase the kit and this would confirm it for me. Can't wait to see pics:)

Also, which kit did you get. Not sure if I need the y pipe kit ? Considering the true dual kit also.

I did the 1 3/4 full length headers and catless crossover . Yes you have to weld the crossover to your existing exhaust . I was extremely satisfied with the fitment of quality .

With 6 broken exhaust manifold bolts, it is entirely probable that your improved throttle response and smoothness are coming from fixing the exhaust leak that you had.

The gaskets were still sealed . No signs of leaks believe it or not . You couldn't hear any either .
