So I've had my 2015 Tahoe for about 2 weeks now and I've realized that the headlights are always on. I have headlights set to "Auto", yet even on a sunny day, my headlights are on. I installed some JDM ASTAR Led bulbs about a week ago, but honestly couldn't tell you if that issue existed prior to their installation. Also driver and passenger windows are tinted 20% if that makes any difference. Just wondering if this is a common issue before I switch back to halogen to troubleshoot this issue.

It is the DRL- (Daytime Running lights). On the wifes LT it has both the led bar and the headlights on 24/7 if you leave it on auto.

I have a '15 LT with the front windows tinted to match the rears. I don't have any issue with the headlights always on. DRL are always on in the auto setting. The only way I can tell the difference during the day is the LED light bar under the headlights are on when the actual headlights are on. Otherwise it's just the DRL.

Yeah I figured it out. I guess I just didn't notice they were always on when I had the halogens because they weren't nearly as bright. Thanks guys!

But the headlights aren't suppose to be on during the day correct? Only the LED bar under the headlights. I seen another vehicle and just the LED bar is on. Of course it could have been in the parking light position.
It seems headlights are always on as well in the auto position. Also is there suppose to be an led indicator light on for which selection you have. My 4WD selection has an amber light. I'm thinking something may be wrong.

It's because of the tint on the front
Windows. It's trickIng the photo sensor on reading it's dark out by blocking the sunlight 20 percent. Not to mention that the side windows are tinted as well. Is there a setting on the newer models that adjust the sensitivity of the auto headlight sensor? It's either that, live with it or make a slit in the tint so light actually gets to the sensor

Nope. Headlamps aren't on, drl is. Drl is on the low beam on non hid trucks so not the ltz. The led bar is set via the bcm to 50% bright. The ltz uses 100% bright and led only as drl because the hid can't be dimmed down. Welcome to no ******** reason at all why the led isn't the drl on the LT

So not only is the LED strip not the DRL on my 16 LS but the halogen projectors couldn't be any worse. They are the worst headlights I've ever seen.
My 04 headlights are sooo much better. I think they actually have candles in the housing.

Is there a way to set the non LTZ trucks to run like that with a computer? Possibly at the dealer?

I've yet to see a dealer do it. Most say the program isn't individual and not compatible because it's the ppv program where they disable the drl.
