Hey guys, so its that time i replace my upper and lower headlight assembly on my 2003 chevy tahoe. My lenses are all cracked so its a must. I found these two on ebay, ones a "clear Crystal" and the other is a dark smoked. I personally like the dark smoked as my truck is the dark grey. I am concerned however that even tho its a light smoke that it will defeat the purpose of lighting up the road. I currently have 6000k Hids 35w installed. Also im going with the Yellow fogs to help in the snow and fog here in Mass. Let me know what you think about the smoke impairing the vision or not. Im working with 100 dollars max on this so ebay it is.

I think a black headlight would look better than the smoked, I haven't actually seen those smoked ones in person to tell though.

Yea a black headlight will be alot better than a smoked lens. Even a light smoke is going to hurt your light output. View media item 24844

Those would probably still be better than smoked lens's. Only good way to get a black housing and have light output is a projector retrofit.

I'd say Depo, the ones with the halogen projector. Especially if you're running HID already (in a halogen reflector? tsk tsk). At least a halogen projector won't glare as much as a reflector. Plus they're aparently very easy to retrofit to a true projecctor if you want down the road, I'm in the middle of a retro myself. I would have gone with Depo, but I guess they don't make the Denali style lights, so I had to go with Eagle Eyes. Same idea though.

Slightly more than your $100, but pretty close:

I like my Depo projectors. I got the chrome version, however they do have the black version as well.

$118 with Amazon Prime.

Still halogens but a better look and output than OEM. The included 9005 and 9006 bulbs are pretty good so I left them for now.

The mounting bracket of the Depo headlights are a bit loose compared to OEM and is well noted in the thread noted below. I did the ping pong ball trick to reduce the shake. They ride and fit much better now.

Here's that thread and a picture below of my Depos as they sit now. I added a second ball just to firm it up a bit. Don't mind the colored balls. I painted them for my kids when we play.

I second the black depos. I don't have any shake problems, but I've seen people use the factory bracket off the old lights too.
