I'm trying to figure out how to install the Platinum Escalade's heated/cooled cupholders into my mom's 2010 Escalade. The fitment is all the same but it looks funny because they originally came with warm brushed aluminum, whereas her current cupholders have woodgrain.

First of all, there has to be a way to pull the woodgrain off the little doors and the piece itself. It's either glued on or held by tabs, so what do you think it is??

Also, how do I wire these to work with the vehicle? They came out of a 2009 Platinum.

Thanks!

They might work with retro-fitting, as the cupholder area for an Escalade is a different shape.

I figured out how to get the warm aluminum off. :D

Now to figure out how to wire it. I'm sure it's a very easy thing but I gotta get my dad to do it.

Okay so I am pretty sure I can do this. From an install thread I found on the 03-06 models, it seems as though the surround trim is held on by clips, and the doors come off by taking off a 9/32 bolt. Now, I know for a fact that the door thing is correct because I saw them when I removed my Denali console to install my PXAMG. As for removing the surround piece, I'm not sure yet.

Then you just swap the pieces. After that you just need to wire the cupholder.

Frank, if you want any Platinum parts I can provide some links. We are going to try and get as many as we can for my mom's because the Platinum wood looks great and is real, and she likes the front end on a Platinum. Basically we're trying to do everything to it except badge it with the Platinum emblem...and maybe not the seats, I don't even wanna know how expensive those covers would be.
