heated mirror?

I noticed when I got my Tahoe that the driver's side mirror has a little heat icon in the corner like the mirror is heated. The passenger side doesn't have one. Actually, the p/s mirror doesn't work and I suspect that it may be aftermarket.

I looked in the owner's manual (that I just acquired) and it says nothing about heated mirrors. Is the driver's side also not original? It's got a yellow tint to it, also...

btw, it's a 99 LT, if it matters.
