Same issue on my 01 Yukon, Pulled the drivers seat bottom leather and the wires were all pulled out of the heating pad and it was kind of wrinkled up too, Ordered a new Dorman aftermarket heating pad from partsgeek.com,
($92)with free shipping and ordered new leather and seat foam from theseatshop.com ($350 for both) and the most amazing customer service. Hope this helps.

Well after doing all this to mine I still have no heat on the bottom cushion. The seat back heats up just fine but my new lower cushion heater doesn't heat up, Gonna pull the seat again and see if I missed somthing. Is there a module or some other componant that could have fried that powers the seat bottom heater? So frustrated right now,

So after the dealership replaced the heating units in the bottom cushions in the front seats last week, they did not work regardless of how low the temperature got. So I took it back into them this morning. Will report back with the progress and what they found out.

OK so it turned out once the dealership replaced the bottom cushion heating element it caused the back cushion heating element to short and work intermittently. So now they had to order the part for the back cushion heating element. They told me its on national back order. So I say to him so you think there's a problem with these now? A national back order is kind of a big deal lol!

Thought I would give an update on my heated seat issue. I replaced the seat bottom element and there was no change. I inspected the seat back element, which turned out not to be to hard to get to, and it also needed to be replaced. Like the seat bottom it had a large burned area. After replacing both elements it is all working correctly. I am so happy since both elements cost me about $111.

That's a great price for both. Where did you get them? Do you have a link? I've seen different ones I'd love to know for sure what they look like.
