Im looking to get an 03-06 tahoe 4x4 and have been looking at the BDS lift kits and would like to clear 35's so for the most part i have decided on the 6.5"/5" lift. My question is, will that 1.5 difference in front make it perfectly level or raise it higher in the front? I know its down low a little bit from factory but i do not prefer a lifted truck that is lower in the front or back. I see both frequently.
Also, do you think 35's slow you down much compared to say a 4" lift with 33s?
I will be getting supporting bolt ons and a tune to compensate.
Thank you in advance. :yaoface2:

the 6.5/5 should level. our trucks have torsion bar suspension anyways so you have some adjust-ability with the front to get it where you want.

as far as the tires slowing down your truck, the type of tire and size with both be key factors.

my current setup is 20x12 moto metal 962 with 305 55 20 trail grapplers.

prior setup was 20x10 gunner 6's with 325 60 20 terra grapplers

even though my trail grapplers are smaller, the added weight from the A/T to the M/T and the wider wheel have made up for the difference in overall diameters between the tires. so it feels like it has the same amount of drag.

so, like i said it will depend on which wheel/tire setup you go with. to be 100% sure check manufacture websites and look at the exact specifications. some tires in the same size but different brand will be completely different as far as what the tire actually measures out to and the weight of the tire. i know the 33 12.50 20 toyo open country M/T measures out to be a hair shorter than 33" while my 305 55 20 trail grappler measueres out to be 33.5" tall and 12.6" wide. then if you look at some 315 70 17's, they measure to be only 12.2" wide even though it is technically listed as being 10mm wider than the 305. hopefully i'm not confusing you here.

re-gearing will be crucial to gaining back the mechanical advantage for the heavier/larger wheels and tires.
