Quick Update - Week two of Tahoe ownership!
I spent my first weekend with the new Tahoe, and did a number of things to it...
First, I had the front two windows tinted. In doing so, we pulled the Onstar stickers off, which were still on there from when the truck was new. Funny thing, Onstar no longer works, as that system went digital, and this vehicle's unit is analog. I read there is a upgrade, or at least was...I wonder if any of the dealers still have that kit after 10+ years.
I also installed two new front fog lights, as the originals had cracked/broken lenses.
I replaced the driver side mirror glass, as it was cracked.
I removed all of the factory badges and trim pieces. All were showing signs of age with fading, minor damage, etc. I haven't decided if I will go back and replace these or simply keep it nice and clean...I do like the new look.
I gave the interior a good cleaning, although the inside is super nice, and really just needed some dust removal and protectant applied.
Finally, I started paint correction efforts on the exterior to polish, remove scratches, swirls, etc. I'll finish up with a ceramic coating this coming weekend.
Next steps beyond the paint cleanup will be maintenance items...plugs, wires, fluid changes, etc.
Oh, and I'm managing 17 MPG so far driving it to work each day with the AC on full blast (North Texas heat!), which I feel is pretty good for the vehicle.
I guess I need to start a build thread, and not just add to my intro repeatedly.
Anyway, I'll add in some new pics here for all to see...
