Hi!

I just picked up a (new to me) Tahoe, and naturally just joined the forum.

I have owned a couple of pickups in the past, but never a Tahoe, so this is my first one. So far, awesome experience.

Details...

2003, LT model, 116K miles, one owner, good car FAX, no stories or apparent damage beyond a couple of scratches and a door ding or two. Built (the Arlington plant), bought and driven around right here in north Texas its whole life. The vehicle is super clean and shows to be well maintained over the years. I already pulled the RPO code list from the glove box and went looking to see what it has and what it doesn't in terms of equipment...Not too many options missing, mainly the sunroof, DVD player, and the automated ride height system. Everything else seems to be on this one. Based on the '03 brochures and info sheets, the LT appears to come with most of the goodies out of the gate.

Its cool going through the owners manual (yep, its in the glove box still!) and geeking out over the various settings and what not in the thing. It has a surprising amount of tech and things it can do despite its age...I just wish it had a AUX port with the factory radio! lol Funny thing, I was playing around with it last night to check that all of the lights are visible and working, and when it unlocks it has lights under the mirrors that light up the side very well. I had no idea they were there...not something I could see during the day. Always interesting to discover little things like that as you learn your way around the truck.

I do have some questions about a couple of wear items and some of the known problems with this gen, so I anticipate looking through the forum threads and FAQ(s) before posting yet one more question of 'I've got a new Tahoe, how do I <fill in the blank>?' :)

Anyway, hello to everyone and I look forward to the discussions...

Nice truck with low miles! Looks to be in great shape. Post some interior pics, too.

Those puddle lights are great, and it probably means you have the DL3 rpo for power folding lighted heated mirrors.

Welcome! That thing is a freakin' time capsule. Great find! Keep up the care and you can triple that mileage.

Yep, it does indeed have the DL3 option. I now know how to fold them inwards using the adjustment control...its not obvious at first. :)

Welcome aboard and Happy Fathers Day if that applies. I’ve never seen more Tahoe and Burbs in all my life when I stayed at an Embassy Suite in DFW. Apparently it’s a thing to have a birthday party and take over the entire hotel.

True! I recall reading several times over the years that the majority of Tahoe/Suburban sales are in Texas. I believe it from living here my whole life...they are everywhere. :)

Happy Father's day as well to you and the rest of the Father's on this thread.
