Help! 1999 Chevy Tahoe no start issue!

It seems by your description it ran after injectors changed. So Test for spark at dist and coil,no spark change cam sensor. Fuel pressure check Key on engine off 62 lbs minimum. Scan for codes, really suspect P1345 is there. Distributor may not have been tightened enough.

Fairly easy to replace and also do a very thorough check of the wires in there. There can get rubbed thru on the insulation over time and even break.

You said the mechanic said it was a spark problem. Was this after just talking to him/her or after he/she inspected for the problem?
After he changed the plugs and wires. (He’s who worked on it). I bought a new distributor and rotor today. So you think I need to change the camshaft sensor to while I’m at it?

Yes it ran after the injectors were changed. But it ran “funny” almost like it had a shimmy to it until it got to 160* and the check engine light was on. (Which was why I had it checked at auto zone) and that’s when I got the P0340 code.

The camshaft sensor is in the distributor. The distributor you bought should have one in it. The distributor I sent the link for comes with the internals and the rotor and cap. If you bought a distributor and had to buy a separate rotor, is it because the distributor is a stripped down model with no cap and no rotor. Post pics of the distributor and if has a distributor cap on it, take it off and show a pick of the inside. If it has the cam sensor in there, check to see if it looks like the one in the link I sent you. I posted links for just the cam sensor, inside the distributor and the complete distributor.

Here is a distributor I have used multiple times, no failures yet. MUST use Delco/Delphi or United DCR820x cap and rotor only.( Others burn thru). Might save a problem later changing Distributor rather than just cam sensor.

Since you are now in no start after changing crank sensor, plugs,wires. Do these tests-Spark tester in coil and in dist coil terminal. Post results. Fuel pressure test . Key on engine off 62 lbs minimum. Should hold pressure for 5 minutes minimum. Prefer 20. Rent a Fuel pressure gage at AZ for free. Post results.

Just to eliminate it as an issue do a pressure check on the fuel pump. There is a fitting on the driver side top of the engine. Or that is where mine is.
My '97 Tahoe ate fuel pumps until I switched to no ethanol gas years back. Haven't replaced a pump since.

The injectors are inside the manifold. The distributor is immediately behind the upper half of the manifold that has to be removed. Maybe the tech damaged the wiring going to the cam sensor in the distributor? Or maybe partially unplugged the connector, even inadvertently?

Also, if you've replaced the crankshaft position sensor, it should've had a CKP relearn performed.
