Hello. New to the forum, but it looks great and I'm hoping someone can bail me out of my problem.

Bought an EGO Flash Bluetooth handsfree kit for my wife's '04 Denali XL as well as the recommended vehicle specific wiring harness adaptor from QuickConnect that goes between the Bose stereo and the vehicle harness. Based on the instructions, this should be plug-and-play with the exception of adding a 12 volt switched lead for the EGO unit, which I ran from one of the "UPFIT" terminals in the Center Instrument Panel Fuseblock (near driver's left foot). All seemed well after reconnecting battery and putting key in ON position for about 30 seconds, then the radio sound stopped and red security light started flashing, a bunch of underdash/hood clicking ensued- then all power ceased to the truck and the yellow engine icon lit up. Since then I've checked fuses both underhood and inside, disconnected the battery and waited for reset, etc, but cannot get power back. When I reconnect the negative terminal, I get the usual clicking, etc, but nothing in the car seems to function.

Anybody seen this before? I tried to call OnStar thinking perhaps I'd triggered a super security system, but they did not seem to think so. I appreciate the help.

he said he used an upfit terminal from the fuse block...i would assume something was hooked up wrong and fried a BCM....or maybe hopefully the battery crapped out at exactly the same time....

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I did take the lead from one of the switched terminals on the UPFIT block.

If I fried a BCM, would I be able to replace that myself, or is a dealer required (to input VIN info, etc)? Is there no way to "reset" it other than replacing it?

I'll be replacing the battery today in order to rule that out. I thought it curious that after things started failing, I could not get ANY electrical components to work, including headlights, etc. Although in this highly optioned truck, I suppose those could be operated via the BCM as well.

Wire, terminal.....Yeah, I guess I could have been more specific in my wording, LOL!

Hugh, which port and terminal did you use?

Unless you blew the fusible link on the battery positive cable, it's highly unlikely your connection caused all those symptoms. And you would most likely blow a fuse before you blew the link.

I'm pretty sure I used the top left terminal of the 4-way "UPFIT" device in the Center Instrument Panel Utility Block (underneath the instrument panel to the left of the steering column). Of those 4 posts, one was 12 volt constant, and the others were switched, so I picked the switched terminal closest to the top of the Block for ease of wire routing. Since disconnecting it, I'm not positive if it was the top left or right one, but I was careful to pick a switched post at the time, and the system did seem to function correctly initially, as in the power went on to the unit when the key was moved to "ON".

Any idea where the BCM is located, and shouldn't one of the TBC fuses have blown before frying the module itself?

Got the new battery in and all issues seem to be sorted out. Nothing like having the battery fail in the middle of an electronics job!

Thanks for the suggestions and input.
