Help...do I have an LT1 or LS

Need some help fellas. For the last 3 years I have owned what I thought to be a 2008 LT1. Overtime I've noticed a few features on my truck are not consistent with the LT1 package like no digital climate control, no factory leather. I figured there are exceptions to the "standard" and shrugged them off.

Now I'm doing a little research about the value of my vehicle and I noticed my VIN seems to indicate that I have an LS. What!?! I know for a fact that I pried LT badges off of it about a week after I got it home from the dealer where I bought it NEW with about 65 miles on it.

Now that I think of it, I want to say I noticed on a couple occasions on random print outs that my VIN brings up LS as the description (insurance and autoparts related stuff I think).

Based on the link below it looks like I do have an LS and I clearly have a K in the 5th and a 1 in the 6th digit of my VIN.

Am I reading this wrong? Or do I have an LS that was badged and sold as an LT?

What dealer did you buy it from? This could get interesting.

It was a Seattle area dealer and a terrible overall experience. They said they had the truck I wanted, after paperwork they said they needed to get it from another dealer in the state. Not a huge deal just waited a couple days, but when I finally went to get it the truck was filthy, like it had been sitting behind a lot somewhere for months and it had a quarter size dent in the hood. I still don't think they swapped the badges on me, going to check and see if I can find the sticker when I get home but the wife probably didn't save it.

My wife says we never got the sticker unless of course she's saying that because she misplaced it .

I was so focused on getting the dent fixed and detailed that I didn't realize we left without it. Needless to say I didn't go back to the dealer for anything after that. Just filed a complaint online.

My Suburban is a LT1.
But Had NO.....

Factory Leather (but was dealer added).
No power pedals
No auto climate control
No back up sensors
No Home Link


One of the main features of a LT1 + is a full floor console.
Also do you have FACTORY FOG lights? LT1s DO

I was building an LT1 on Chevys website a few years ago. Like mentioned above, one of the main things between the LS an LT is the LT came with a center console. LT2 added leather. Another difference was the wheels. They were still 17's but different from what the LS came with.

What dealer in seattle or eastside? I live in the area so would be curious got our truck from Good chevy great experience got 2 free bumper pads too from them. So what dealer?

I was cool with a LT1 ..... I had leather added and bam.... Only thing I wish I kinda had was back up sensors, but when I put my head unit with camera it will be of little importance I suppose.

Yeah, I'm not super concerned about it. Just really odd that the VIN doesn't seem to match up with everything else, that's why I posted hoping I was reading the VIN wrong. I did the same and added leather plus I think I got a great deal with employee pricing and a 5k rebate (but if it was an LS then that deal would be a little bit misleading seeing as they take the employee price off the top and it not listed on paper work). And yes I do have fog lights and floor console.

I got it at Bellevue Chevy/Cadillac. The service experience when they resolved the dent and detail was pretty good, and they weren't really making up for the other experience because they knew nothing about it when I mentioned it. So, I guess the sales dept was the biggest issue.
