Yea, I have seen extreme corrosion on old cables where you can see the obvious swell of the insulation. Other times you cannot see the swell but if cut open you see the corrosion all thru it. Old cables like that need replaced.

OK, I will add these cables on my shopping list. The headache is which one is the right one? Many choices for my truck, even VIN is given. Some of them can cost $100+.

Update, day 3 and day 4 are trouble free, runs like a champ again!

When we are talking about cables we are talking about the battery cables. The rest of the ground cables can be had in the aftermarket at very inexpensive prices and replaced as needed. The main thing about them is to trace them and clean and tighten as needed. There are some threads here about replacement ground straps/cables as needed.

The battery cable sets can be a bit pricey for the AC Delco oe style but look at the time you got out of the original ones.
