Yea, I have seen extreme corrosion on old cables where you can see the obvious swell of the insulation. Other times you cannot see the swell but if cut open you see the corrosion all thru it. Old cables like that need replaced.

OK, I will add these cables on my shopping list. The headache is which one is the right one? Many choices for my truck, even VIN is given. Some of them can cost $100+.

Alternatively, you could read up on and do the BIG 3 upgrade.
Ok, I'll bite. What is the BIG 3 upgrade? Or, has it been laid out here before and I forgot or missed it?
Looked thru that but all the pics are blurred and I notice it is from the Tahoe forum. I saw the list of what it is but pics would truly help. I get the different gauge cable as well.
