So, I got the "brackets" with the DDM Tuning 55w kit.. However, it looks like they don't really serve any purpose? Here is a pic of the ballast, with the bracket next to it. The ballast has (3) mounting holes on it, so why the heck would a bracket that fits into those holes be even necessary? I guess if you wanted to suspend the ballast maybe? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!
I also picked up some "all weather" velcro type (3m) stuff that I might use plus (3) self tapping screws on each...

I have a '99 2 Door, fyi...

Nice truck man... And thanks for the response... Well, it wouldn't dangle anyway, because there is a flat space for me to use all (3) anchor points.. What's even weirder is that the bracket came with (3) tiny as crap little bolts and nuts.

thanks and those tiny bolts and nuts is in order to mount the bracket to the ballast before mounting to the truck.

In short you take the bracket mount it to the ballast THEN mount the ballast with the bracket on the back to the truck. Its just a precaution so you dont get loose connections Ive tried three different HID kits and Ive only mounted this 3rd kit because it cost me so much more than the others but even with the other cheaper kits not mounted I never had any loose connections. so you should be good

I'm actually looking at an '09 LTZ, loaded, trailer package, etc, triple black, 26k miles, for $36k... First dealer I walked in to, I live in a "sheeshy" kind of town, and would you believe they quoted me the best price...! I'm actually going to try and get him down to something like $32k - as he did say "Sean, let me know what I need to do to get this deal done.."

Thanks for the tip on the bracket, I guess I'll use it.. Despite the fact it would only use (1) mounting point, versus (3) if I went direct from ballast to truck...

Lol I still dont think you are understanding the mounting bracket issue..
There are three holes on the ballast you mount the bracket to the ballast with those three holes then there is an extra hole on the bracket sticking out well above the mounted ballast that you then mount to the truck....

No I get it, it's just not making sense.. ;c) I would think that it would be stronger to use the bracket, in addition to the (3) holes on the ballast itself, and use self tapping screws through all (4) holes. Instead of attaching the ballast to the bracket by the (3) provided dainty screws, then only using the (1) hole to mount the bracket/ballast to the truck.. Know what I mean?
