im trying to choose a "winter" tire for my truck. i havent looked at many brands but was kind of focused on nitto tires.
i do plenty of highway driving which would be around 55 mph and alot of in town driving ranging from 35 mph tp 55mph. im looking for something that will be great in the snow/slushy conditions and of course icey. also for some minor off-road conditions. mostly mud. not big mud pits neither am i trying to go mudding. i would like the tire to look aggressive as possible.

for looks id would go with the nitto trail grapplers, but im not so sure its practical for my situation. my next choice would be the terra grappler.
has anyone had any snow experience with these tires on their trucks?
thanks for the help!

I run the TERRA GRAPPLERS which gave the truck a whole new, aggressive look, much better than the BFG's I had before.

Just put them on about 4 months ago and did not use them in the snow as of yet, so I can unfortunaty not comment on that. (Have not made it up to the Sierra's yet this year, and not much snow so far anyhow).

However, otherwise they are great, not too much road noise and in the most recent rain we had here, they performed well.

Terra's aren't aggressive looking enough IMO.

If you want an A/T go with the Toyo xtreme or BFG KO2.

I'd got with the Trail Grappler myself.

anyone have any experience with the BFG KO2?
just did a bit of research and they seem like a pretty solid all around tire.

The more aggressive, the more road noise.

I for myself would still like to be able to talk to the family and hear the kids in the back at 75 mph. Not sure one will be able to acommplish this with TRAIL GRAPPLERs.

Our vehicles are not JEEP's, they mostly are daily drivers and family vehicles, ....... Who wants all this noise?

This! Also the op said he does mostly highway driving lol... Yea, let's get some MT's for the look and the noise just to wear them out on pavement....

Hate to say it but I think texas is the worst about that.

I've had the Terra Grapplers before and loved the look and minimal road noise. I am currently running Trail Grappler M/Ts. Great ride quality and not that bad with the road noise. The Toyo Open Countries I had prior were noisy has hell!

You can probably fit a 285/50/20.
