Ok I kind of screwed up something I think.
I was installing my new stereo, and in the wiring prosess I think I shorted out the wire that feeds the cluster, dash knobs and stereo with internal light. I blew a fuse(think it was the "ILLUM" one). I replaced the fuse, but still no lights in the dashboard. I also unplugged the stereo and rechecked the fuse. Still no light. I find it very frustrating driving in nighttime theese days. Anybody know where to start loking, or know where to go next?......
Going for Christmas holiday tomorrow, so it would be nice with some lights.
My Tahoe is a 5d 2000 5,3 gasoline.

were both fuses located in the dashboard, or was one one of them located under the hood?

Thanks Gzez!
I double cheked all fuses inside and out. All of them were fine. so I pulled the light switch out and pryed it open. after some measuring I found the wire in the switch connector that feeds the lights. I connected it directly, and then the lights came on. They are pretty strong now, but its better than no lights at all. I just ordered a new switch, and i hope that solves my problem.

Light switches going bad is a common problem on these trucks, a lot of the time it's the dimmer.
