ok so im in the processof debadging and demolding my yukon. everything comes off without a problem, just getting the adhesive off now. however when i took my drivers molding off it had a good amount of water and silt in it. there is a very visible faded portion. my question is am i SOL or will some elbow grease and car products make a difference. i already tried a little polishing compound on the area with no fade in the color just made it shiny. my bud is bringin over his DA and some products to try tonight.

What you are seeing is the ghost lines. Bad news is there is not much you can do about it. The good news is that it fades away and before long you will not be able to notice it. Getting it buffed out will help as well

Yeah its common and will go away with time so you will not need a repaint unless you want it gone quick and have $ to blow.

so i still have this line, anybody know a time frame till it fades? i claybar'd, DA'd the hell out of all 4 doors with 2 step polish and waxed everything. paint feels like glass but the color variant is still there. agian i took my molding off and there was a good amount of water trapped in there up agianst the paint. ill put the molding back on if need be but im digging the clean look, just dont wanna roll around all ghetto looking.

also is the rear "GMC" emblem only double sided tape like the others, meaning theres no "alignment" pins right?
