As Im not a pro wrecher, in cases like this that Ive been dealing with today, Ill defer my limited knowledge to those that do it daily, and the great people here that are vastly more knowledgeable than I.

No sir, hes reworking the driver side and remanning one he already had, said it wasnt worth it his opinion to fix it.

OK That's what I was hoping I read. :)

you can fix cast iron heads but it is best left to parts that are near extinction.

Yeah the amt of time and money and finding someone you trust to do it isn't worth it, even on a mighty Vortec. ;)

Agreed, his cost to do the refurb on my good one, and if I would have had him fix the cracked one then refurb it, would have almost doubled the price Im already paying.

So, final update on this issue...after reworking the heads and replacing the cracked head, did another top end rebuild, and all is well. Not one single issue. the yuker was officially back on the road full time yesterday, and again without any issues. Many thanks go out to all those that gave the great advice and assistance.
