Help with Mods

I have a some questions for you guys and any help would be appreicated. I installed my M.I.T from Airaid along with the K&N filter last night and I am wondering if I really needed to remove the neg battery terminal? I seem to remember hearing that it would reset your computer to help with the addition. Next question is I am working on getting my HIDs for the lows and fogs and I am looking for info on if I need to do anything extra to make them work well with my factory electrical system and will it hurt to do with the 6 Hi mod? Also I am looking for what bulb size my fog lights might be. Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask because I need these answered to further my upgrade process.

The only reason I ask about the battery cable thing is because my MPG reading keeps jumping around a lot.

When I installed my K&N back in the day I didn't do anything with the battery and it didn't seem to run any different so I unhooked the battery as well as touched the pos and neg together while off the battery to completely drain the system and that too didn't do anything noticeable either!! Get a tune for your truck to get the benefit of your CAI!

Battery disconnecting is about protecting the computer. It is good insurance similar to when you shift into 4x4. I am still old school, put trans in neutral shift into 4x4 and then reverse for 10 feet at idle then drive.
