I have a Bose system, but due to the previous owner not including the owner's manuals, I know nothing about it.

Here's a pic of the radio...

I'd like to know as much as possible about it. I'd like to add and AUX input, and perhaps a USB input for a thumb drive. Is it possible, or do i need to replace the radio? I'd like to keep the looks stock, as they don't get stolen like aftermarket ones do.

Please advise...

Pac and scoush (spelling) makes adapters for aux in.
If you dont use your onstar, I think its the onstar.. Someoneo on here did a writeup on
how to mod the input wires onstar uses for a Aux in.

If you don't have OnStar and can't do the mod ezdaar is talking about you could always get one of those cassettes that has the 3.5mm jack on the end and just modify it into your radio and have the cord stick out somewhere else to give it a somewhat stock look.

That way you don't have a wire hanging out of your cassette player. Since you don't use cassettes, hopefully, you could also do a little trimming and then glue the door on after inserting the 3.5mm cassette so it looks like nothing is in there.

I have Onstar, but don't use it. The truck has an XM antenna, so I'm assuming that the radio plays XM as well??

I did a google search today and found this. http://www.replaceonstar.com/ I wonder if it will play streaming audio from my Droid through the system...

Another question...what is the red LED on the face of the radio for?

you should have 2 antennea on the roof if it has XM. The red LED is for security.

I had a casette adapter in the 01 Suburban I used to have and it actually worked pretty good. I got it at Wal-mart for about $10. If you have XM you could get an Ipod adapter that plugs into the xm unit behind the glovebox. I have one in my 05 Denali. You can hook up an Ipod and control it with the stereo or use the Aux input. I got mine here:
http://www.ipodcarpros.com/ I have had it about 1.5 years and love it. I have my Ipod hooked up in the glovebox and put an Aux input in the dash so I can hook up anything else.

Just took a pic of the Aux input I put in the dash. It was pretty easy to put in.
