I'll take some pics and put something together tomorrow. Did you figure out if you have an XM capable radio? When pressing the BAND button XM should show up when you are scrolling through. If it's just AM and FM then you don't have the XM capability. I think you can still hook up an adapter, just not sure how.

Hope this turns out alright. I've never posted anything this involved before.
First you will need to open the glove box all the way. There is a tab on the right side that holds it up. Just pull the side in a bit and that tab will clear the dash. Unplug the connector from the XM unit. There is a lock holding the connector in. I think it is the blue piece. Just take a screwdriver and slide it up.Next plug in the connectors from the Ipod adapter.

I put my cable for the Aux input next to the traction control switch on the dash. If you are not sure what size hole to drill, drill it a little small first. There is a plastic stiffener behind the panel, so be careful. The drill bit will grab that. Feed the cable through the hole and push the input into the dash.

Next connect the Aux input and the Ipod input to the adapter.

After everything is hooked up, neatly shove the Ipod adapter into the space above the XM unit and tuck all the cables out of the way. I keep my Ipod in the little compartment on the left side of the glove box.

The final result. The mount on the dash if for my Droid x. I use it for navigation (the factory one sucks) and with it hooked up to the stereo I can use it as a hands free phone.

I hope this helps you.

So I got the pictures in the right place, but how do you do it so they show up bigger without having to click on them (like in the pic of jplinville's radio)?

If you want to add an aux and keep the factory radio consider this....
Isimple ISGM75

This product adds an ipod connection and an auxillary to your vechicle directly to your factory radio, no fm stations needed, this product sends the signal into the factory radios internal amp. However, this product has a male connector for its aux.
If you want to add a mounted female aux like in the pic that was posted earlier, you will need to buy the Isimple female aux adaptor, which is the female aux in the picture posted earlier and just add it to the Isimple ISGM75.

If you want to add an auxillary to your vehicle and use a hardwired FM Station Consider this..........

Isimple IS31

This product wire directly into your factory antenna, no wireless fm transmitters are needed, so it kills the fm station completely as soon it is turned on and gives a clear audio signal. This product can also be paired the the Isimple female auxillary adaptor so u can nicely mount it somewhere like in the picture posted earlier.

As far as adding a USB input with the factory radio, the only things that I know of if to buy a usb input wireless fm transmitter the will connect to your cig lighter. This does not give a clear signal though, you might hear some static.

If you decide to replace your radio you will need a special harness to interface with your factory bose system. It is the Metra GMOS-04

you will also need an antenna adaptor. It is the Metra 40-GM10

A kit will also be needed. It is the Metra 99-2003. This kit should come with both the single din and double din kits.

And thats about it !!!!!!

The stock stereo is a piece of crap! BOSE or no BOSE. The 6 disc CD changer is working the first 5 minutes. After that it won’t read any CD’s.
I am having the Kenwood 2 DIN flagship next week. Next year I am changing all speakers also.
When I got my Tahoe, the sub was missing. Got no idea why.
So get a new one! :)
