Hey guy's new to forum I got a great deal on a 08 Tahoe

have a #1 low compression he said that it will be better for us to change the engine I want to do that but the person I got it from says that it has the AFM issue. My question is do I pull the heads and replace the valves or replace the engine just looking for some great advice

How much do you want to spend? How many miles are on the engine? Is it an LY5 or an LMG?

Without knowing the answers to those questions, I'm of mind to repair the engine and not replace it. I would physically delete the AFM system and then have it tuned.

@MLB314 I would recommend you open the engine to find the cause of the problem, it could be much easier and cheaper to fix the problem than to install a replacement engine.

The AFM issue is very common and is relatively easy to fix.
