I bought my 2008 LTZ with 20k miles exactly one year ago for 34.9k and it was 38k on the dot after Tax Title and License. At the time, I got a phenomenal deal, so it's pretty comparable to your deal. This is my 2nd tahoe and I love it, my next vehicle will most definitely be a Denali though.

They will last a long time assuming that it's properly maintained and taken care. The powerplants in them have a history of going virtually forever. If I was you, I'd research via KBB, NADA and local for sale ads to find out how much 08 LTZ's with 23k miles are going for in your area to see how much they are worth in your area. If they are in the $34k range then it's probably not that out of line.

Isn't your current warranty 5 year 100k miles? You should have a long time before you have to worry about it. Myself, I don't get extended warranties only because of the infrequency of needing to use them. When something comes up that needs fixed I just dip into my Emergency Fund so it's kinda like a self warranty without paying another company for the same service :) With that said, there's nothing wrong with getting an extended warranty if you're just wanting that piece of mind.

I ended up buying one for my wifes peace of mind. She has this strange misconception that I am going to keep a vehicle for longer than the standard warranty runs. In the last ten years I haven't kept a vehicle more than 3 years, so I don't know why she would think I would start now. Maybe its just wishful thinking on her part.

:word: My attention span is short enough that the 2 1/2 year mark seems to be the point I get bored and am ready to move on to something different. At least with the ones I drive every day. I try to keep the wife's around longer because she doesn't care to change the often and her's are the nicer rides anyway
