I just went through this last year with my 05 Tahoe and it was the vent lines like everyone else is saying. Gotta drop the tank and blow the lines out or replace them. I replaced mine and the charcoal canister and it fixed the issue.

My new Yukon is doing it as well when its cold outside so Im gonna need to do the job all over again.

When the fuel pump clicks OFF, your done. Don't try to force more fuel in.
You don't understand the problem. I'm having the same problem. Fuel guage shown almost empty and your trying to add fuel and the gas pump will shut off after just putting a small amount in the tank.

You can not fill the tank because the vent and fuel lines that displace the air for the fuel to go in are clogged with pellets that broke out of the carbon canister.

I think what Don meant was that under normal circumstances and everything is working, when the tank is about full and the pump clicks off, don't keep adding fuel. That can overfill the tank and flood the evap system, causing these kinds of issues.

When I replaced my canister, I vacuumed out the lines with a shop vac. I vacuumed a lot of charcoal beads out of the lines going to the gas tank. It was easy and very necessary part of the replacement
How exactly did you do this. I’m just picturing a big tube and a small tube. Like Is there adapters
