High flow cats will increase Exaust flow less restriction and free up some HP. You wont really get a MPG increase though. In all honestly, save your money and invest somewhere else. A tune would be more beneficial for Hp and MPG although it may be a 1-2 maybe mpg gain.

Stock cats are already high flow. Unless yours are plugged up, no reason to get new ones.

in school we did a back pressure test and the stock exhaust gives a back pressure of 0.01 psi even with the stock muffler. at 4000 rpm we saw a back pressure or 0.02 psi. the stock exhaust is extremely flow efficient vehicles now a days

I don't know about the newer gassers, but on the Dmax diesels stock exhaust (stock muffler) is NOT flow efficient, its very restrictive.

As far as the ? the OP asked the factory cat flows good, I don't think you would see gains as far a mileage changing to a high flowing cat.
I would only consider going with a flowing cat when the stock cat is getting high on mileage and/or plugged.
Invest in tuning, then worry about a flowing cat way down the road

I got a 4" Magnaflow flowing cat for my Dmax and it cost about $250.
It will be much higher if you buy from Magnaflow, but if you buy from a vendor you will save $$$.
If you can't find a good price then I have a vendor I use from the Diesel sites that buys direct and will give you a great price, shipped to your front door and NO shipping charges.
