Highest MPG non Hybrid 09 and newer Tahoe..

Best 2 fill ups in the 09 suburban are 19.3 and 19.1. Completely stock and running 30-32 psi in the tires. Roughly 49k miles on the clock.

That tire pressure is much too low, will wear the tires, lower mpg, and may heat up the tires too much. Least I'd run is 35, better to be up in the 37-38 range.

2010 Tahoe LTZ completely stock - at 70-74 mph long highway run got 18.4.

On board computer mpg numbers are rarely reliable. I've found on mine that the computer indicates mileage about .6-1.1 higher than actual mileage. To me you should never trust the computer beyond some basic comparison while driving, the only way to know true mpg is to fill, drive till close to empty, and re-fill. Even better when calculated over 2 tanks figured together.

25 mpg at 70 mph extended highway driving is not possible in a Tahoe/Yukon with 5/3.

ill chime in with my very first post, 2008 Tahoe bone stock LT 2WD with 83K 3.55 rear end @33psi 14.8 city/hwy mpg. I just did plugs and air filter service and after the first tank im about 16.2

Lol. I love mpg threads. On a forum I use to frequent of the dodge cummins variety it wasn't uncommon to see claims of 27-30 mpg. Guess those 10" tips really help.

My 09 sierra w/ 6spd averages 16.5 in a good mix of short highway and some city miles. Don't have any numbers on my yukon yet.

Does the Sierra have the same 3.43 rear end as the Tahoe/Yukon?

And Socaltahoe, is that correct about a 3.55 rear? Not 3.73?

yeah i was very surprised when i looked it up. It also has a G80 lsd. i want to get the 3.73 or 4.10 for a lil more pep and to make it easier to tow. had to edit the rpo in the glove box says 3.42 however there is a tag on the diff housing saying 3.55. so all i can assume is that it may have been a dealer or aftermarket install

15-15.5 in the subzero temps this winter. 18-18.5 in summer. Lots of 55mph flat roads. And stop and go.

Took it on an 800 mile round-trip road trip a week after I bought it and was getting 20-21mpg on the highway at 60-65mph with tires at 40psi. Once the other cars in our caravan caught up to me and I had to do 90mph to keep up with them my mpg tanked.

Now the Tahoe is up to 90k miles and I've added a K&N air filter, Optima red top battery, and a brush guard and keep the tires at about 35psi. I'm getting about 15mpg combined.

I have the roof rack off of ours.. I plan to lower it 2/3 or 2/4.. install TBSS 22s with 285/45/22 tires (oddly enough they are LRR tires) and tune it with HPTuners to see what I can get out of it..

Also.. Does anyone know for sure that the 6.2 denali or esky exhaust is bigger than the stock 5.3 stuff? Was thinking about putting a full 6.2 exhaust on it and do long tubes and a custom crossover with no cats and a wide band bung.. I want to get mid 20s on the highway at 70ish and still get a little better power out of this thing.. With HP tuners and the wife driving i figure I can get it tuned in and enable lean burn.. Idk.. We shall see..

Joshua, what year and model do you have?

Mid 20's can't happen at 70 mph, I'd say best you can expect would be 19-20, maybe I'm wrong and you can get 22 but I doubt it.
