Hello all.
Needed a new Family Haul/Tow Pig and found a ridiculous deal on this Yukon. 110K on the ODO. Little bit of rust which is prob why I got a deal on it. But nothing some fender flares and paint can't hide. She'll never be perfect and thats ok. It'll do the job I bought it to do.

Mods already:
Range AFM Disabler. (Found in a junkyard so score)
Fender Flares to Hide the rust.
BlueTooth Receiver going to Aux port.

Future Mods:
Some LED Pods for 2 Tracking
CB Radio for Fun
Maybe a level kit.
Some 17-18 Inch wheels to get some Fatter Meats on. I prefer more Sidewall to Wheel Ratio.

This is my build thread. I hope you all enjoy my build. If not...well cant help you there.

Fender Flares are going on slowly. Hitting the rust with a wirewheel to bring it to bare metal then shooting some white over it. Its a bit cold in MI so results have been mixed but its not a show truck. Will be waiting on warmer days to install the door Flares as those are just 2 sided tape and I want a good stick.
I am also polishing each panel to remove all brake dust and bringing the paint somewhat back to life.

Are you spraying anything on the bare metal 1st before painting? Primer etc.

I'm using Rustoleom Paint and Primer Combo. I know its not the right way to do it. However the Rust is pretty severe where it would require cutout and replacement 1/4s put on. I'm not looking for a show truck finish just slow the rust on down. Its a Michigan Truck and it will see salt so its kinda a never ending battle.
However the Frame will be wirewheeled and undercoated once spring hits.

i would use a rust converter first before priming, IMO.

Problem with rust conversion is that if you dont convert every single inch. Its not doing anything really. With how GM did the overlapping panels you'll never get rid of it without replacing. Its absolutely great for frames though

Got the drivers side rear on..and fitment is trash. But what do you expect from the cheapest finest chinesm. The front fit fantastic tho no complaints there. Feels like the rear were an afterthought.
