fwiw i second the whole radiator trans cooler leak/pinched line theory. if the juices arent circulating...

also could have damaged something internal when you hit, the sudden change in speed could have jacked something up (i snapped something in one of my old trucks in a similar incident)

Yeah, Well I'm still waiting for a call from the insurance adjuster, and getting pissed.. FIVE DAYS!! :emotions122:SERIOUSLY?!?! :wtf2:

Ive already got some of the repair parts on the way, at this rate Ill have all the parts here by the time someone finally shows up or calls me!!

Radiator mounts driver side busted, upper and lower. Shoved back about 4inches on driver side...Trans fluid looks, smells ok, radiator fluid looks, smells ok too. I was able to move it about 30ft and up onto a trailer then that was it. Then again about an hour later was able to move it off the trailer to my driveway, then nothing, again.

Maybe in the radiator itself there is an issue that you cant see. You can bypass the radiator just to test. Take the lines out of the radiator and get a rubber hose and connect them together. See if that helps. Just a thought best of luck.

Of course this is just an idea to test of course dont leave it like that, which i think you know that already!!

Finally got a call from the insurance rep, Damn they are making me jump through hoops. Prove this, show a receipt for that, blah, blah. Suppose to be here Thurs or Fri to inspect the damage. And ill go from there, so hopefully I can get this done and fixed ASAP, as I am about to lose the use of my wires truck ( she has been on medical leave, and is goin back to work) in two and a half weeks. So first things first, pull out the radiator support to fix that so the trans shop can rebuild the transmission and then it is atleast driveable. Who needs a grill, straight fender, or lights. Lol. Just temporarily of course.

Two days aftger you upgrade your insurance to full coverage you make claim for damage to truck and transmission caused by a deer strike on a 180k mile vehicle, and you are wondering why they are suspicious? I'd expect an extensive investigation prior to any payment, there are multiple red flags.

Yeah, yeah. It's honestly just coincidence, I thought I already had comprehensive and collision on the Tahoe, since its required, financed vehicle and all. I just bought it five months ago, and still owe a shade under 9k on it.

The only question, was weather or not the damage was caused before or after the changes to my policy. So I just faxed them copies of the receipts I was asked for, and everything should be fine. Trailer rental receipt (to haul my Tahoe home).I'll do what is needed, just don't Dick me around. Be up front and tell me what you want, don't drag this out over a matter of weeks.

I've already got some parts on order and paid for, just wanna get my truck fixed. Can't do that til they come and inspect it..

$2500.xx in VISIBLE damage. Not including the trans. Which may or may not be covered, depending on weather or not the shop says it was a result of the deer impact and all. The Tahoe left for the body shop this morning @ 9. So, hopefully. I'll have my truck back soon. Body shop mgr said he would try to get a guy on it today, if not today, definatly on Mon.

Ok, well. I got a call a few minutes ago from the damage adjuster. And my Tahoe should be ready in the next day or two, with one small tiny problem.

The inspection has revealed the transmission issue IS NOT related to hitting the suicidal deer,so it has not been repaired, and is not covered. well f@ck me. She did say the found a buildup and metal shavings or pieces in the transmission. And mentioned, the bodyshop offered to flush it at an additional cost of course. I'm thinking, NO!! Everything I have read on here says that is a bad idea.

Screw that crap.. I found several 4L60E here for about $300-$500 with a 3 month warranty. 6 or 7 bolts to mount transmission, adjust yokes, install driveshaft, add fluids and save yourself some $$$. But don't know how often you come across trannys in central TX? How much are they charging you by the way to flush and fix trans?

I would seriously offer them $200 CASH and have them add it to the bill for the INSURANCE!! LOL haha.. SERIOUSLY..
