Screw that crap.. I found several 4L60E here for about $300-$500 with a 3 month warranty. 6 or 7 bolts to mount transmission, adjust yokes, install driveshaft, add fluids and save yourself some $$$. But don't know how often you come across trannys in central TX? How much are they charging you by the way to flush and fix trans?

I would seriously offer them $200 CASH and have them add it to the bill for the INSURANCE!! LOL haha.. SERIOUSLY..

Around here, Trannys are double that, and NO WARRANTY.. I did find on in Waxahachie for $395 or $495 plus 150 shipping w a year warranty. So I may go that route. Since I now know the filter is clogged up, and I get a discount (working at a parts store has its advantages) I may try a fluid and filter change first and see what happens. Go the cheapest route first right? I know that will only be a temporary fix to the larger problem, but it will get me back on the road. And out of my wifes Durango. LOL.

Yeah man. But honestly if your driving to Waxahachie you might as well make the trip to Dallas and save you an extra $100-$200. Here are some link I found on CL. The first guy wants $300 with 65k miles on it but is in Ft. Worth. I'll be willing to pick it up in Ft. Worth and meet you in Dallas for a 12 pack of beer :Handshake: The second $350 he is in Kaufman. Came out of Suburban. Third came out of 2001 tahoe and wants $350. The last one is a rebuilt one and has a shift kit in it. He wants $400obo but start offer at $320 and work your way up to $350.

Yeah insurance screwed me like that too. (Had state Farm) I hit some water in my z28 and threw a rod. They said it was "normal wear and tear" all the water in my intake And #8 cylinder was "condensation"
I don't care what anyone has to say, insurance companies make me sick with this kind of bs.
Is all good tho got a fairly new ls1 dropped in her last summer for $3500

Yeah, well. It looks good again, just doesn't move more than a few blocks. Yea me, with TWO major surgeries in my household in the last four months I have no money for this crap right now. So the Tahoe will be parked for the foreseeable future. Great!! I love making a monthly payment on something I can't use. Grrr.

State Farm SUCKS. They are cheap for a reason, they try to weasel out of every claim possible. Worst insurance co in the world.
