I ordered my hitch cover from an eBay vendor and I also thought the parts needed to attach the riots to the underside of the bumper were incomplete. I ended paying my dealer $25 to install it since I was due in for service anyway. From eyeballing it, I think you could just attach the plastic strip with self-tapping screws instead of the rivets. The rest of the install is pretty straight forward. Something that I don't like is when you remove the hitch cover now, the little twist locks come completely off and don't stay connected to the actual cover. They're tiny, so I can see them getting lost very easily.

Self tapping screws should work although I riveted mine. The twist locks have a special locking washer which prevent the twist lock from falling out onto the ground. It's probably a ten cent part at the hardware store but something the dealer should have provided if they performed the installed.

Thanks for the info. My hitch kit either didn't come with the washers you described, or my dealer didn't install them, because they definitely aren't installed on mine. Grrr....

I just left the dealer and they wanted $88 for the mounting hardware. Needless to say I didn't buy it.

Yeah that's what I thought. And said. And he wanted to argue with me so I left. I'm just going to figure out the part numbers (since he wouldn't share that info) and order myself.

Just hit the hardware store. The "rivets" are crappy nails with plastic washers anyway. Self tapping screws would be much better. I didn't trust the rivets for the tops bracket, so I ran a strip of 3m mounting tape between it and the bumper and then pushed the rivets through.

I would but I'm missing the top mounting part which the tabs lock into. Happy New Year.
