Hi all been lurking for awhile first time posting. I have a 2003 Yukon Denali xl with a shake I believe to be in the front end. New tires mounted balanced all good before the shake tried rebalancing and rotating didn't help and the shake didn't change locations. Front brakes replaced trying to chase shake didn't help. So the shake starts at about 25 really light comes in steady at 35 pretty rough at 45 and levels out from there. It is worst when accelerating and the shake goes away if I pop it in neutral. No noise asscoiated with the shake. I'm thinking it's driveline related just looking for some ideas of where to start looking? Thanks in advance.

Check the u-joints on the drive-shafts.

Put the vehicle in park and set the parking brake.

Get underneath and try to rotate the driveshafts by hand. They should not move at all. If they move, look at where they are moving.

Move as in rotating or up and down? I can"t rotate around when in park but I believe I can move the one to tcase up and down slightly but with everything tense when i park it is hard to tell.

Your looking for any play in the u joints. Set the parking brake and or block the wheels and put it in neutral not park. If your sitting on any kind of an incline the torq will bind it up. When you attempt to rotate the driveshaft look for any kind of slop in the joints. There shouldn't be any at all. If there is replace them.

I had bad shaking on an old explorer. It was the U Joints. I was able to take the entire drive shaft off and had NAPA replace the u joints for like 50 bucks.
