My wife just likes to know what I'm doing and wants to assure her that she'll like what I'm doing to it As long as we have the cash she's usually good.

I do it out of courteousy. been with her 24 years, we share any large expense together. I make 80% of the income, but she does the house, laundry, diner on table when I get home,and raised my two kids while working at nights just to 'raise' our own kids. Now she says I am 'never satisfied' with my vehicles, which is true, but I tell her "I havent traded you in yet!"

But always ask on BIG stuff, small stuff she could care less, i just get it.

It's a partnership/team thing more than anything and on the bigger more expensive items it's definitely a good idea to communicate. Also, a lot of times when I buy something I want that's a little more pricey that means she'll usually get something that she wants at about the same value so she's happy

I did ask the wife if she wanted the rims, but after I got those I didn't ask for permision to get the drop. Its all in the same deal!!! Just put the color matched mud flaps on tonight that she didn't know I was getting. If she haden't seen me putting them on, she wouldn't have even noticed ther were there!!! I guess I'm lucky that she trusts me to do something that is gonna look good and not break the bank.
