Hey all, I bought a 2005 Yukon last month and after going through the menus I've found something I find peculiar. My hours and miles don't seem to jive. The mileage is 101228 and the hours are 787.4 for an average speed of 128.5 mph. I'm wondering what some causes could be, maybe the motor was replaced/rebuilt? Cluster replaced maybe? Any ideas are appreciated.

I wouldn't put much stock in the hour meter. Serves no real purpose, it can be reset and it's not known to be very accurate anyway

Would guess the truck spent a lot of hours idling, they're neutering two different things. In reality mileage is less important than hours but hours only meter the engine for the most part.

The average speed is odd though.

I coulda sworn that my dad's 04 Yukon could reset that hour meter  in either event he found it to be inaccurate because it'd actually reset itself from time to time for some reason

Maybe we are taking about different meters? The one I am referring to is the same as found on tractors, boats, etc.

Mine has a timer that can be reset, but I don't think I can reset the hour meter.
