As an update I was finally able to bang out the torsion bar from the lower control arm drivers side but I was hitting it so hard that I mangled the hex inlet for the bar so I bought a used one locally. BTW, I was not able to find a replacement lower control arm for the 4x4 with The torsion bar opening which I preferred, if anyone knows of a place other than used please pass along. I received the Moog lower control arm thinking it would work but there wasn’t a hole for the bar...good times. I was able to buy the bushings though..(.2 different sizes)
Passenger side lower control arm did not budge for me but it did release from the key at the rear...not expected. Thankfully the shop was able to get it out Of there wouldn’t say how (frankly I didn’t care at that point)-and press in The new control arm bushings and lower ball joint.
After all of this work, new: shocks all around; tie rod ends inner and outer; pitman arm; Steering gear; tires; bearings; torsion dampers in the rear; upper and lower ball joints; upper control arm; lower control arm bushings after all of this I’m getting a vibration above 60 mph. :banghead:
Is there something that I’ve overlooked? The parts gun is out of ammo, I think. The vibration seems to be coming from the back I can wiggle the front of the driveshaft only enough to make a click noise, it’s barely visible when I move it, the rear of the driveshaft doesn’t move at all. The u joints look solid, the movement looks like it’s coming from where the driveshaft goes in. Would even that small amount of movement cause this?:banghead::Boo:
