My 2 pennies worth. I'm not looking move into a different platform or brand anytime soon. I'd rather go buy a diesel then be bleeding edge with an EV pickup right now.
I currently have a '19 Suburban LT, a 2020 Escalade, and a 2020 Silverado RST. That's how much I like this variation of the GM platform. As others have stated, the 10 speed tranny is the way to go. The 8-Speed behind the 5.3L in the pickup is nice as well. It's worth mentioning that my girlfriend has driven all 3 and she thinks Suburban and Silverado have a better ride quality than the Esky with all the MRC crap. Granted, my Esky is now a purpose built, lowered SUV with upgraded sway bars and 24's and the others are stock suspension. I can't really tell difference.
The newer model stuff looks nice and there are some nice features but nothing that I feel justifies the need to switch right now. I've got so much into my Escalade that I'll probably never get rid of it. The Silverado I had before the one I have now I kept for 14 years. By the time I'm ready to make a move the EV platforms should have the kinks worked out and maybe then I'll move away from fossil fuel.

White 2019 Yukon xl well optioned SLT, got all the options we wanted, all black leather interior and captains seats, all the safety features and electronic upgrades (heated, adaptive CC, lane assist, auto braking, Wi-Fi, etc.). We took a 5 state road trip and I was able to work from the passenger seat via laptop while wife drove and none of my coworkers realized I wasn’t at my desk.
We have 4 kids, preschool to highschool
Bought new, plan to keep forever, already at 55,000 miles and it’s awesome.
We came from a midsize suv with bench seats which created daily fights, daily crying, and then the kids had issues too.
I recommend to buy whatever vehicle you think will best serve you in 5 years and not necessarily today
At $60,000 this is a life decision imho, good luck

We don’t tow, drag race (lol), or want to put in premium gas so the regular V8 (5.3L ?) was a better option for us plus the smaller V8 is gonna be cheaper and more abundant when we do eventually need it replaced or serviced, since we intend to keep forever.
In other words I believe the T.C.O. will be way less than on the Denali option

Love my 2018 Denali. The 6.2L has great power for the size of the truck and can be fun to drive if I don't feel like being nice to it. Tows my 24' Wake Boat with no issues (6000lb boat + close to another 2000lb from trailer).
I second everyone that said get a later model year. Had both a 2015 Yukon XL SLT and 2015 Yukon Denali and the 2018 Yukon Denali I have now is WAY better than the 15s ever were. Plus, the 10 speed in the 2018s+ with the 6.2L is 100x better than the 15s with the 6 and 8 speed (SLT 6 speed, Denali 8 speed).
I've had both 20" and 22" rims on these trucks. I would NEVER again have one with the 22" rims. The 20"s ride SO much better than the 22"s. Less wheel, more tire and sidewall on the 20s. Plus new tires are a little bit cheaper on 20s than the 22s. Some people on here love their 22s for the style, and sure they look good (especially the black 22s), but when driving now 30k+ miles a year I went for black aftermarket 20"s. Comfort > 22" styling. No matter what size of rim get the Michelin Defenders. Depending on how you drive, you can get a lot of miles out of them. 70k+ for me.
83k miles on my 2018 now. Besides an engine ticking nose that was just a couple loose bolts, an annoying service trailer brake controller electrical malfunction, and having to replace engine oil cooler lines, this truck has been 100% reliable. (I suppose a battery too... but that happens to any truck!)

2 years I bought a nice 19 Yukon XL, it very low miles, SLE with factory 22 wheels. Put it up for sale to get the 21 Yukon XL SLT, it sold in 2 days. I would have kept the 19 longer but I was able to upgrade to the features of the 21, and I like the new body style.
