After doing a handful of fenders, I have to give my opinion on these alternate methods. If you're the type of person who goes to the auto parts store and buys a flame sticker to put on your car just because you have $5 in your pocket, use a bat. You obviously don't care to do it properly. Use the correct tool with a heat gun and do it right. A lot of patience is required. Baseball bats, newspapers, etc....will get the job done, but you risk an uneven roll and damaging the paint. The key is to make it look like it came from the factory that way. Just my two cents.
