Hey, how does the Tahoe handle in high winds? Say around 25 miles per hour? I've read that they don't do so good. I expect that because they give the wind something to push against, they wouldn't do so well, but I thought their weight would help.

Thanks,

I can definitely tell if it is windy out in mine, lol. I rock pretty good especially if a semi goes flying by on the 2 lane roads. I wouldnt say its any harder to control though, just keep ur hands on the wheel!

Pretty good on the freeway for me when we have our windy days. If you drive with one hand and don't hold on the the wheel you'll feel it jerk you with a big gust. We have more surface area for the wind to push up against, so its moved me a little but not enough to knock me into the next lane.

Cargo Van I drove for work

I imagine it's probley like the Chevy Cargo Van I drove to work. And yes, it really rocked when the semi trucks passed. I had many a stiff neck from holding onto that steering wheel. I imagine with my Tahoe it will just take some getting used to.

25? I routinely deal with 45-60 mph winds. not a huge issue.

Interesting because coming from a 7 series BMW to a Tahoe, I noticed almost immediately a HUGE difference when it became very windy.

At first it was quite weird to keep a tight hold on the steering wheel as the truck swayed over the road.

Now I'm used to it and with a forthcoming drop I'm sure things will get better

Its like a giant refridgerator on wheels......While the handling is pertty good as far as being blown around a high headwind will decimate your MPG's, especially when traveling
ovet 70mph. I have found my truck does great in pretty much any conditions up to about 70 and then I really start to feel it fighting the wind and on tbe highway MPGs go to crap in a headwind, especially @ 70/80

I LOVE my Tahoe......wouldn't trade it for anything (maybe a new one) but they are like driving highly aerodynamic boxes!!!! However, like EAGLE said, not really a big deal, we have all kinds of wind in Texas, and it doesn't really bother me. As far as how they handle, it's more the driver I think!
