This comes up all the time, and I'll admit I really don't know how to do it. If I take my intake off, the sensor is embedded in an enclosed/filtered piece of tubing. So, how do I clean it or even get to it to clean it?

I've sprayed cleaner through it before, but that doesn't really feel like I'm cleaning anything....

Most of the time you can separate the MAF from the tube. Once you do this spray your cleaner on it and wipe it down.

Only wipe down the plastic, never touch the wires at all with anything!! The spray will air dry on it's own so avoid the temptation with the air compressor to dry it off quicker, it will only destroy the MAF!! Also only get MAF specific spray!!!

Don't touch it with anything!!! Just spray it down and let air dry. Like Rivieraracing said.

I keep a can of CRC maf cleaner along with a can of their throttle body cleaner in the garage all the time. You can damage the sensor with other products, spend the money on the correct chemicals.
