Ok trying to figure on Economy by the tank. My wife's 2002 2 wheel drive Tahoe with a 5.3L stock, engine trans and rear end. Is getting about 220 miles to a tank full. It's has an AFE CAI in sealed box, free flow cats and a flow master super 50 series muffler, new MSD wires NKG Plugs new fuel filter, AIms oil and trans fluid and royal purple rear diff fluid. It has 20" wheels with 275X55R20's tires. We both average about 75 - 85 mph highway and 45-55 mph city. It's is not jack rabbit started.

What are y'all getting to the tank full?

220?? Thats it?? My 03 Denali easily got 375 to the tank with around Houston driving. My 07 Tahoe gets about the same - 320-360 miles to the tank.
220 sounds very low!

I believe it's 24 but it might be 26 gallons.

If it is a 26 gallon tank, then 220 is way too low, especially for a Two Wheel Drive.

With my All - Wheel Drive and no mods other than a K&N Filter and Magnaflow Exhaust, I get AT THE VERY LEAST 12 miles to the gallon, so 26 x 12 should get you at LEAST 312 miles to the Tank.

Also to note - the Denali I had was AWD with 22's. The most I got at one point was driving straight highway at 420 miles to the tank. I have the same general accessories as you do too - intake, exhaust and tune for 87

Your mileage per tank does seem very low. My wife and I average about 15mpg together. She is the primary driver of the Tahoe. It is a 2003, 5.3l with 150K on the clock. We easily get over 320 miles per tank and sometimes more depending on whether we are highway driving. The biggest factor is the speed. 75-85 mph will suck up the gas quick! These trucks have the aerodynamics of a barn and are not geard for top end speed! Reduce your highway speeds and you should see an increase.

Very low for sure for a 26 gal tank! Make sure tires are fully inflated and might have to start thinking about a tune up (seafoam intake, clean MAF, clean filter, plugs and/or wires, etc.)!
