I see. It's just ridiculous in my opinion to charge another $20 for something that I already have. I don't like to get charged for the in build navigation system either after 3 years. A car for 70K+ doesn't come with a lifetime free navigation system... again... absolutely ridiculous. Apart from that I like the car though and so I just suck it up eventually.
Yea, I felt the same way. I find myself using my CarPlay nav way more than the internal nav, but it was useful going through Navajo country when we were off the network. Trust me, it's $20 well spent for the experiential differences/happy passengers.

Ordered (as soon as the order bank opened) and took possession of my 2021 GMC Yukon SLT on July 30th, 2020. I love this vehicle. Now, that said, it hasn't been trouble free and now has 34K on the odometer. Besides the recalls, (re-programming mostly) I did have a chip go bad that shut down half the fuel injectors and left me on the side of the road. Fortunately, it was close to home, so not a big deal. It did temporarily test my faith in it, since it was a early production vehicle, but smooth sailing since. I am 6 foot, 5 inches and this vehicle is the most comfortable to drive, and I had 5 Tahoe's in a row before this ('97, '99, '02, '07 & '15). Now that I'm in a Yukon, I won't be going back to a Tahoe. It's the little things like all LED everything on the Yukon, but the Tahoe is still using bulbs in taillights and turn signals???? How is that possible on a $60-$70K vehicle? Plus, the GMC exterior front end styling on the 2021 is just so much better than the Tahoe, IMHO. The exhaust note is awesome, for a single, and man does that transmission shift and perform so smooth.....and very responsive. It makes it seem like you have more horsepower than you do.

Anyway, just glad I got mine when I did. Can't imagine waiting 12-16 weeks to get one now....got mine in 5.5 weeks back in 2020.

I don't think so. I never followed the Full Size SUV market for very long, but I am in the camp that a poor economy and higher interest rates aren't going to stop people from spending $60-$70k-$80k+ on a car because generally money isn't much of a concern to someone buying a car that expensive. Financing at low rates is nice, but if a 2% interest rate tells me I should buy but a 5% interest rate say no I can't afford it, then you shouldn't be looking to spend that much plain and simple in the first place. And sure when there may be a "recession" is that impacting your income? Not in my line of business.

And if dealers are having a hard time selling cars because of bad economic times, production will decrease to go back in line with demand.

Where I live, people are buying Tahoes and Yukons for over $10k MSRP. I was quoted over $15k for one, and that was the only one in stock. And that car eventually sold. I can't even find a dealer that has a 2021 or 2022 in stock to test drive. Most dealers have none to even show you in person. If we have a recession tomorrow and interest rates spike, I don't think they'll only be buyers who are settling for only under MSRP.
We can agree to disagree.

With that being said, the wholesale prices on Manheim for these 1/2 ton based full size SUVs is decreasing. Brokers are no longer able to flip them for a profit as easily as they were months ago.

I purchased a 2022 Tahoe High Country, received it at the end of January. Build date was also January 2022. I love it, the 6.2 is so powerful and smooth. I love driving it!

I have read most of the posts on here about the lifter issue and to be honest it's caused me some anxiety. Despite trying several times i have been unable to find or read the engine build date. Several posts on the forum mention a specific date range that seems to be most prevalent in seeing engine lifter issues.

The only thing i'm not crazy about it the auto stop. I have gotten pretty good at remembering to turn it off when i start up the vehicle but would prefer a permanent off option.

Good luck in your decision.

I have a 2021 Z71 Tahoe. I took delivery of it on January 6, 2021 and now just turned over 30k miles on it. I love it. I have had absolutely no problems with it. I drive a lot (obviously, from the mileage), including around town as well as all over my state and a couple trips to Colorado for skiing. It handles everything - road, mud, snow, ice - with ease.

I will say, however, that this is my second-favorite model. My last five vehicles have all been black Tahoes (before that I drove Avalanches and Silverados). I had a 2007, 2011, 2013 (the 2011 was wrecked), 2016 and now the 2021. My favorite was the 2016. I still love the 2021, but the 2016 was the best ride and the most power out of all of them.

I am 99.99% sure the interior and space inside the new Tahoe and Yukon are identical.

Would love to hear how happy (or unhappy) you guys are with your truck.
What's your experience so far?

I'm looking for one of the 2 but I'm concerned since I read all the negative reviews on edmunds.com and other places about all the flaws like lifter issues, misfired engines, etc.

Would love to understand how common these issues are. I'm driving a 2017 5.3 Yukon SLT and it just runs perfect.
However, I really in love with the new models and so I'm considering an upgrade.

That being said, I would just HATE to be in the shop or have the truck there sitting all the time because of any annoying issues, recalls, part availability, etc.

So... what's the truth here?
I've got a 2021 Tahoe Z71 with 36K miles and couldn't be happier. I take good care of it and never had even one issue. I live in northern ca sierra mountains and drive regularly through the mountains, snow, dirt roads, light off-road- no problem. Love it!!

Best purchase so far. Very happy with my Denali Yukon. Ordered it in June 2020 and got it December 2020. To date I have 24,000 miles on it and its only been in for its regular oil changes.

Get the Autostop Eliminator by TRL. Best $90 I've spent in a looooooooong time. It's essentially a permanent solution, but you can undo it and doesn't impact your warranty.
